Designing: Principles and Best Practices

Preview

In this section, some important design questions will be posed regarding the creation of OERs.

The openness of OERs raises a new complexity in the design: using an OER created by others, sharing and re-use it with different purposes requires to think ahead about its audience, granularity and readiness to use. This cooperative work across the web and through OERs requires a high-level quality in the communication, to avoid misunderstandings and inappropriate usages.

🕰️ Time: 40 minutes

🎯 Goals: understand the best practices in design about hierarchy, information architecture, and imagery use, and understand how to apply the 5 Gestalt principles both in the visual design of an OER and in teaching
