Radiating Charge

Radiating Charge

Preview

Congratulations! You've produced electric (or "electromagnetic") waves, also known as "radiation", or simply "light".

How does the wavelength vary ?

Click on Pause. On the horizontal wave, observe the distance between two successive crests (two bumps or two troughs) of the wave. This is called the wavelength.

Click on Play. Increase the frequency (the rate at which the charge oscillates) with the slider at the bottom of the sidebar.
